Star Trek turns 50 this year and we’ve teamed up with Cork Science Festival to bring you a very special screening of the cult sci-cinema classic “Star Trek: First Contact”
Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and his Next Generation crew engage in their most thrilling adventure yet, involving the galaxy-conquering Borg and their attempts to invade Earth’s past, alter history and “assimilate” the entire human race! Could it ever happen for real? Join us to find out!.
We promise that resistance will be futile to this evening of sci-fi cinema. Movie goers are invited to join the Starfleet by arriving in fancy dress!. We have some super prizes for the “Best Dressed Trekkie”. Proceeding the movie, we will host a brief talk with Trekkie experts highlighting some of the close linkages between Star Trek and real-life science. After the film, join us in the Brú Bar on MacCurtain Street for a Trekkie themed after party and live music.
This is the first event in a week long celebration of all things science related for Cork Science Festival which takes place from November 13-20.
Tickets are €5 (plus booking fee)
We can't wait to head back down to Cork!
