Phizzfest is a vibrant community arts festival which brings the little urban village of Phibsborough alive each year. It was established to develop an annual celebration of artistic life around Phibsborough, to highlight the rich diversity of culture within our community and to provide a showcase for local talent.
Clean Coasts engages communities in the protection of Ireland’s beaches, seas and marine life. The programme is operated by the Environmental Education Unit of An Taisce and is currently funded by the Department of the Environment, Community & Local Government, Fáilte Ireland and Coca-Cola. Clean Coasts is made up of two elements; Clean Coasts Volunteering and the Green Coast Award.
Their events gently nudge families from the well worn path from car to playground into the other less rigidly structured play spaces to encourage children to play with the readily available 'loose parts' in nature (sticks, foliage, leaves etc) thus encouraging imaginative, cooperative play and problem solving - whilst also educating and opening parents eyes to the benefits and opportunities presented from playing in nature.
